چکیده

This paper focuses on the laboratory experiments of low-temperature adsorption CO2 at elevated pressure and validation our mathematical model with data obtained. The numerical approach uses fitting isotherm parameters sensitivity analysis influencing breakthrough curve shape onset time. We first evaluate results for zeolite 13X. Then, we use obtained to design a dynamic predict profile. Experimental show that 13X possesses high capacities (over 10 % its weight temperatures 293 K below), as expected. simulation was accurate predicting time; however, this prediction accuracy declined outlet concentration exceeding 75 %, which is discussed. indicated choice different estimates mass transport bed porosity, well scheme, can lead more prediction, but same set not suitable all process conditions.

An Experimental Study of Adsorption Breakthrough Curves for CO2/CH4 Separation in a Fixed Bed of Nanoporous Shaped Copper Trimesate Metal Organic Framework

Copper trimesate (Cu-BTC) MOF has been pointed out as a promising adsorbent for separating carbon dioxide from methane. However, MOF’s need to be shaped prior to their use in packed bed adsorbers in order to reduce pressure drop; on the other hand, the production of mechanically resistant shaped bodies reduces their adsorption performance. In this work, Cu-BTC tablets provided by BASF are evalu...

Mathematical Modeling of Fixed Bed Adsorption: Influence of Main Parameters on Breakthrough Curve

Dynamic modeling and simulation of fixed bed adsorption process was carried out by explaining the behavior of breakthrough curve parameter. Adsorption of sulfur compound, present in road fuel, has posed a great challenge. A model of fixed bed adsorption of benzothiophene from fuel was formulated with non-ideal plug flow behavior and considered velocity variation along a column. The model was so...
